Opportunities for Graduate Students
Rotations and permanent positions available. Students from any graduate program can be readily accommodated. For further information, please email Dr. Zylka (zylka at med.unc.edu).
Opportunities for Postdoctoral Fellows
Genetic and environmental risks for autism. Projects include genome-wide approaches (single cell RNA-seq, ChIP-seq), cellular and behavioral studies, with neuronal cultures and ASD mouse models. Includes Chd8 and Ube3a mouse models.
CRISPR/Cas gene therapy for Angelman syndrome. AAV vector development and testing, validate efficacy in human IPSC-derived neurons, evaluate mechanism of action of our top guide RNAs, translate to humans.
Single cell RNA-seq to study cellular and molecular mechanisms of neuropathic pain.
Mouse grimace, machine learning. To develop our next generation automated mouse grimace scale and then use to identify new drugs, genes, circuits for treating chronic pain. See our recent publication on this topic: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=29546805.
Molecular biology / genetics / biochemistry / behavioral.
Please email your C.V. to Dr. Zylka (zylka at med.unc.edu).
